  • Science Requirements:
    • Group Requirements:
      • There are four main geologic regions in Georgia, for each region:
        • Identify the region
        • Explain the main types of rock in each region (ex. Piedmont: igneous rock of which most is granite)
        • Explain how the rock formed
        • Detail the rock and mineral resources for each region
        • Identify tourist attractions related to geologic features
        • Identify if the region has any fossils and what types
        • Explain how the environment of the region has changed through geologic time
      • Project Choices:
        • Museum Exhibit
        • Virtual Tour
        • Driving Tour Brochure
    • Individual Requirements:
      • Each member of your group must individual submit a field journal with the following:

        • Describe the rock features
        • Sketch a picture of the rock or take a photo of the rock
        • Identify what type of rock you believe it is (igneous, sedimentary, metamorphic)
        • Identify the location where you found each rock
        • Document the dates and times you make your observations
      • Project Choices:
        • An actual field notebook (staple or glue several sheets of paper together to make a mini notebook)
